Performing arts and music classes at Exitleft focus on developing the voice, body and imagination, teaching students how to work as a team, develop communication skills and become creative on demand. Singers need to learn to tell stories which is where developing acting skills become important and actors need to be able to use their voices well which is best developed through learning singing.
At ExitLeft we are all about long term growth. The majority of our students start with us in primary school and continue through to the end of their schooling. Our alumni talk about how much difference we have made to their lives and how much this makes them stand out from their peers. From the student whose presentation won her a place at Cambridge University to study Architecture, to law students using their performing arts skills in moots and musical theatre students coming out at the top of the acceptance lists for the Victorian College of the Arts whenever they audition – it doesn’t matter what career they end up choosing, we are seeing our programs make a difference.
For those students who do want to pursue a career in the performing arts, we provide the high level training and skills to get them into the best national university courses. Our reputation for developing outstanding young performers is well known and sees our students punching well above their weight at auditions around the country.
