Twenty-two excited youngsters took on the ultimate school holiday challenge on Monday 17 June – to learn, rehearse and perform the fairytale ALADDIN in a single day!
A holiday workshop with a difference
ExitLeft Performance academy gave these 4 to 6 year olds a crash course in putting on a show.
“We have six different fairytale adventures these holidays, with Aladdin proving very popular!” said ExitLeft principal Ian Williams. “The students learned performance skills, enjoyed drama games and art activities, and at the end of the day everyone got a chance to shine.”
“These fairytale workshops are a fairly new offering for us, as we had been receiving lots of requests for holiday activities from parents,” Mr. Williams said. “Our goal is to create an action-packed fun day for the kids, but also to work on developing their teamwork skills and building their confidence.”
ExitLeft’s fairytale theatre holiday workshops are tailored for 4-6 and 7-12 year olds, and run from 9:30am to 5:30pm. Any child who loves to sing and dance, or who makes every day seem like a theatrical performance, will have a ball.
Update: Nearly a hundred kids have come in to create fairytales at ExitLeft during the holidays – learning songs, lines and moves, making props, and getting into costume to put on the most beautiful performances for their family and friends. It was nice to see some regulars and even one 5 year old who loved the Peter Pan workshop so much last time she signed up to do it again!
