AN INTRODUCTION TO PERFORMING ARTS

Singing Classes for Kids

“Watch your child bounce out of the car with absolute joy each week”

Now is the perfect time to introduce them to the performing arts, with studies showing that the creativity that music and drama bring, provide benefits in brain development and socialisation skills that translate to better results in the classroom.

SINGING AND ACTING CLASSES

In our Kinder to Grade Two classes students learn their singing and acting skills through songs, stories and poems. They develop their creativity, musicality and how to take direction through games and drama activities. Kinder to Grade Two classes take place during the school terms.

PERSONALISED SINGING/PIANO LESSONS

Individual singing and piano lessons K-2

Individual lessons further the skills Kinder to Grade Two students learn in class – to perform as a soloist at school, eisteddfods or for preliminary AMEB exams.  Maquarie University studies have shown that individual lessons give students an advantage in the classroom. The results showed that children exposed to at least a year and a half of private music lessons have an edge when it comes to detecting patterns in the world around us, with musical training making their brains better at statistical learning which is a key building block for learning language and reading. Lessons are scheduled around class times where possible.

School aged students must be enrolled in an Singing and Acting Class to be eligible for individual singing or piano lessons.
