With a cast of more than a hundred and a two hundred and twenty voice choir, Les Miserables was presented arena style at the Derwent Entertainment Centre. It broke box office records with attendances of more than 13,000 people. Les Miserables starred David Lee (Jean Valjean), Colin Dean (Javert), Sharon Prero (Fantine), Glenn Braithwaite and Betty Davidson (The Thenardier's), Allison Farrow (Cosette), Andrew Short (Marius), Justin Wigg (Enjolras), Michelle Howell (Eponine), Arabella Wain (Young Cosette), Ben Paine (Gavroche) and Ken Short (Bishop of Digne).

One of the most well known musicals in the world, the phenomenon that is Les Miserables, moves audiences every time its performed. Based on the book by Victor Hugo, it follows several key characters through lives of poverty, betrayal, loss and sacrifice during the time of the french revolution.
