For the past 30 years ExitLeft has been entertaining Tasmanian audiences with a mix of theatrical events, cutting-edge theatre, popular musicals, comedies, drama and Children’s shows. The company has an enviable record of success, smashing box office records and achieving audience figures that would be the envy of producers throughout Australia. Audiences and critics alike have been effusive with their praise and there is clear acknowledgement within the community that events with the ExitLeft branding are high quality and a guarantee of great entertainment.

Madagascar

At Central Park Zoo you can see New York’s finest! Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins.

Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar follows everyone’s favourite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap tropical world ruled by the outlandish dance crazy King Julien!

Zombie Prom

Girl loves ghoul – The ultimate 50’s rock and roll musical with added Zombie!

Pretty senior Toffee has fallen for the class bad boy. Family pressure forces her to end the romance, and he charges off on his motorcycle to the nuclear power plant. He returns glowing and determined to reclaim Toffee’s heart. He still wants to graduate, but most of all, he just wants to take Toffee to the prom. The principal orders him to drop dead while a scandal-seeking reporter seizes on him as the next big thing. In the fight for Zombie rights, will the ghoul win out or will the tyrannical principal go nuclear on the prom!

Pirates Past Noon

Based on the best-selling kids book series, of the same name. Jack and Annie enter a magical library and travel back to the 18th century for a Caribbean pirate adventure!

This adaption of the fourth of Mary Osborne’s award-winning fantasy adventure book series is sure to sweep kids and adults alike away on a sea fairing adventure to find buried treasure. Two siblings, Jack and Annie, visit the mysterious magic tree house on a miserable day where they find a book about an exotic tropical island full of pirates. The mean old Captain Bones kidnaps them to force them to search for his treasure, and it’s up to Jack and Annie to figure out how to escape and get back home!

Wind in the Willows

The Wind in the Willows is a riotous comedy of errors that follows Mole, Rat, Badger, and the impulsive Mr. Toad, whose antics land him in serious trouble. With his beloved home under threat from the notorious Chief Weasel and his gang of sinister Wild Wooders, Toad must attempt a daring escape leading to a series of misadventures and a heroic battle to recapture Toad Hall.

Full of humour, wit, a gorgeous, soaring score, and heartwarming lessons of friendship, Wind in the Willows is based on Kenneth Grahame’s classic 1908 novel of the same name.

Picnic at Hanging Rock

On a blistering summer’s valentines day in 1900, four private school girls and a teacher venture up to Hanging Rock. All but one vanish, never to be seen again. For those left, the nightmare begins.

First published in 1967 Joan Lindsay’s seminal novel is considered to be one of the greatest of Australian works, becoming part of the national folklore. Tom Wright’s chilling adaption sees five performers struggle to solve the mystery of the missing girls and their teacher. Euphoria and terror reverberate through the community, as the potential for history to repeat itself becomes nightmarishly real.

Alice in Wonderland

Step into the wacky world of Wonderland in this vibrant new retelling of Disney’s Classic fairy tale.

Alice is quietly reading when she follows a white Rabbit down a hole into a strange new topsy-turvey world. As she travels through the weird and wild world of Wonderland, she encounters all the iconic Lewis Carroll characters that audiences have come to love: including the ever-tardy White Rabbit, the grinning Cheshire Cat, a cool Caterpillar, the wacky Mad Hatter, and the hot-tempered Queen of Hearts. Alice just wants to find her way home…and she ends up finding herself along the way.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Based on the best-selling “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” Book Series by Jeff Kinney and the 20th Century Fox Films. Jeff’s popular middle school cartoon character Greg Heffley takes centre stage as his diary becomes a hilarious and heartfelt musical.

Middle school, ugh. It’s the worst. But Greg is determined not to be at the bottom of the popularity chart. He’ll leave that to his weird neighbour, Fregley. Or maybe Greg’s best friend, Rowley Jefferson. But it’s not going to be Greg…no way.

When Jane and Michael, the children of the wealthy and uptight Banks family, are faced with the prospect of a new nanny, they are pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the magical Mary Poppins. Embarking on a series of fantastical adventure with Mary and her Cockney performer friend, Bert, the siblings try to pass on some of their nanny’s sunny attitude to their preoccupied parents.
