Charley Maplewood has never been one for parties – that would require friends, which he doesn’t have. Well, unless you count his monster friends, but they’re only imaginary. But now that he’s turning ten—the big one-oh—he decides to throw a birthday party for himself, complete with a “House of Horrors” theme. His planning is perfect but then his decorations set the Garage on fire, he accidentally invites the school bully and his sister tried to bake the cake in the microwave… Will Charley be able to pull it together before the big One-Oh… becomes the big OH-NO!?

Singin’ in the Rain

Tap your toes and sing along to this splashy adaptation of the worlds most celebrated movie musical!

The ‘Greatest Movie Musical of All Time’ has been lovingly adapted for the stage by Broadway legends Betty Comden and Adolph Green. Pouring with laughs, charm, romance and wit, it’s high energy dance numbers and parade of famous hits include ‘Good Mornin’, ‘Make ’em Laugh’ and the show stopping title song that comes complete with rainstorm!

Although the world’s at his feet, silent movie heartthrob Don Lockwood is having problems. The movie studio’s zest for tabloid headlines means his famous co-star thinks they are getting married, a new phenomenon “Talking pictures” is taking the world by storm, and the girl he’s fallen for has just told him that his acting stinks. It’s enough to make or break his career! With his best friend Cosmo, he’s hoping they can figure out a way to save the picture, outwit his scheming co-star and tell the girl how he feels!

Thank you for providing these wonderful opportunities for our next generation of arts practitioners. We loved both ‘Little Women’ and ‘Madagascar’ and are so impressed with Hobart’s young theatre makers!
